WControl V1.0
© 1992 Simon Dick
This program uses reqtools.library which is copyright Nico
François. It doesn't need it to run but it makes the
requesters look much better.
This program is Freeware which means that you can copy it
and give it to anybody you want as long as you don't ask
for any money for it except perhaps a small amount for
disks and copying.
There don't seem to be many printer control programs, and
there seems to be even less that can use most of the ANSI
control codes. This was written to allow people to quickly
change the settings of the printer. It does this through
the printer driver so if a function doesn't work then
either the printer driver or your printer can't use it
(perhaps both!).
I have tried to put as many keyboard short cuts in as
possible while still keeping them sensible so for example
to select Italic you press the right Amiga button and 'I'.
WControl doesn't detect what your printer is currently set
at (I don't think that it is possible through the printer
driver) but it doesn't send any codes to the printer until
you tell it to, so it won't lock up when you start it up if
you haven't got your printer on-line. While it is trying to
send data to the printer it changes the title on its window
to 'Working...' until it is finished.
